St. Petersburg Government Backed the Social Project "Career Start" Initiated by Kirovsky Zavod

The set of measures developed under the project focuses on young people who are choosing their occupation today. Its final target is to prepare engineering and technical professionals and highly qualified workers required for production sits of St. Petersburg. Moreover, «Career Start» will become the platform for intensive interaction of enterprises with universities, secondary vocational educational institutions, and schools. The project was initiated by the Trade Union Committee of the company's employees. The programme is being implemented in close cooperation with the Committee on Youth Policy and Interaction with Public Organizations of St. Petersburg Government.  
Besides excursions, Doors Open Days and organization of internships, it is planned to build a system of public vocational accreditation of universities. Kirovsky Zavod jointly with St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and Civil Control mechanism Development Foundation will develop tests for assessment of compliance of knowledge, skills and interests of students with specific professions. This will allow organizing efficient field-specific training.

 As was noted by Chairman of Committee of Interregional Trade Union of Workers of JSC Kirovsky Zavod Sergey Panteleev, it is necessary to refocus the entire vocational sphere of education on the labour market for training professional human resources for new modern enterprises operating, inter alia, under the import substitution policy. «Technical progress is on the alert,» he noted. «Within recent years, new technologies and equipment appeared, therefore future producers will have deeper to comprehend fundamentals of science in different qualifications, it is necessary to strengthen youth training in demanded occupations.»
  
This initiative corresponds to the Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation on non-professional occupations approved on 5 March 2015. According to the Ministry of Labour, thanks to such programmes, it is possible to interest and attract by 2020 to production enterprises about 600,000 promising schoolchildren and students throughout Russia.
