Kirovsky Zavod IT project recognized as best in class by Global CIO

The IT award is presented to the winners

The team at Kirovsky Zavod and Petrostal (part of the Kirovsky Zavod group) have won the Best ERP Project category in the Project of the Year 2019 competition.

The key aim of the project was to create a unified accounting system for Petrostal allowing for end-to-end control of all stages of production, from receiving an order to shipping finished products. All the processes recorded in the system today are reflected in cost calculations. The time taken to calculate cost prices and allocate costs has dropped from 16 hours to 3 hours, and the way the cost of each stage of production is accounted for has become more transparent.

In addition, the procedure for submitting electronic reporting to government authorities has been simplified, a service for checking contractors using data from the Federal Tax Service has been launched, and the system can now be regularly updated in line with changes in legislation.

“Implementation of 1C:ERP at Petrostal was one of our largest and most complex projects involving restructuring production processes, the concept of using standard 1C subsystems, and integration with external systems. Its win in the Project of the Year competition confirms the growing interest of the professional community in digitalization solutions for production facilities. The people who contributed to the project know how difficult it was, how much work was done, and how many issues were overcome, but together we managed it,” said Yulia Panova, Head of the Analytics Group within the Corporate Information Systems Department of Kirovsky Zavod’s IT Directorate.

This was the eighth Project of the Year competition held by the professional community of digital transformation leaders Global CIO. In 2019, 193 projects were longlisted after being assessed directly by IT directors and chief information officers. Participants included: Aeroflot, Gazprom Neft, Rostelecom, Chelyabinsk Pipe Plant, Rospolikhim, SOGAZ, Ingosstrakh, others.
