Director General of Kirovsky Zavod Georgy Semenenko Met Students of St. Petersburg State University of Economics (SPbSUE)

Georgy Semenenko at the meeting with students as a head of one of major enterprises of the region and a representative of the Board of Regents of the University told about demands of the company for young specialists, including those in economic professions. 

 

«We manufacture turbines for big ships, and tractors for agrarian sector, we produce steel, work on business projects in the field of energy. Kirovsky Zavod is developing, and our demand for young and literate specialists grows annually. Today, you are students of the second year of study, which means that it is time to decide on your profession. My task is to help you do that and recommend paying attention to disciplines related to economics and management of enterprises,» said Georgy Semenenko in the introductory speech.

 

The speaker supported his point by statistic data: about 40% of management of the holding have basic or additional higher economic education, and 15% have graduated from SPbSUE.

 

Head of the enterprise also told about the career guidance for university youth, which is being implemented at Kirovsky Zavod.

Head of the holding meets with students of sponsored chairs of SPbSUE every year. The main task is to interest and provide guidance in choosing occupation, tell about career prospects at the modern production. Several times a year, Kirovsky Zavod organizes guided tours, holds trainings and business games, specialists of the enterprise as experienced experts speaks at the university conferences. Another big area of work in this field is organization of work placement at the company's venues. Practicum usually starts on the second year of study, and many students undergo it annually until they graduate from the university. Currently, 20 SPbSUE students receive their first vocational experience in Kirovsky Zavod Group.

Since 2016, students have got an opportunity to undergo internship at the enterprises, whereunder they work during the entire learning course.

«Programme participants, having completed education and received practical experience during work placement and internship at Kirovsky Zavod, can be employed immediately by major companies, in order to become experts and enlightened managers in the future,» concluded Georgy Semenenko in his speech.
