JSC St. Petersburg Tractor Plant (JSC Kirovsky Zavod subsidiary) presented at the Agrarian Industry Forum of the South of Russia a prototype of the prospective Kirovets tractor of medium capacity.
 
At the booth of the partner of St. Petersburg Tractor Plant - Bizon - there were presented a flagship Kirovets tractor of series K-744R with updated cabin and panoramic glazing, as well as a prototype of prospective tractor of medium capacity Kirovets of series K-708.4. The machine with 240 hp engine was developed by PTP jointly with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation in 2015 under the import substitution programme. The machine has been produced with the use of domestic parts, including the power set, hydraulics and even electronics. Transmission group of the prototype is a joint Russian-Belarusian one for batch production PTP develops its own gearbox.
 
Series of Kirovets tractors К-708.4 will include machines with engines between 180 and 240 hp, which, according to national classification, matches with 3 and 4 traction class. Market capacity of such machines amounts today to about 3,000 units per annum, and the demand for such tractors, with respect to the necessity of updating the obsolete fleet, is several times more. As early as today, this model - called Kiryusha for relatively small size and engine capacity if compared to classical Kirovets - draws high attention of Russian and foreign consumers. Before going to conveyor, the machine will have to undergo the entire cycle of tests and adjustments.
 
The booth of Bizon was visited by Governor of Rostov Region Vasily Golubev, representatives of competent public authorities and heads of leading agricultural businesses of the region. Guests showed enhanced interest to the products of Petersburg Tractor Plants, particularly to the prospective Kirovets tractor of series K-708.4. Many agrarians expressed intent to purchase the tractor immediately after the end of the Forum.
 
Guests were also presented with a legendary retro tractor Fordzone-Putiovets. It is since the moment of its release in 1924 at the Krasny Putilovets Plant, as was the former name of Kirovsky Zavod, that history of national batch tractor production deems to be started. In total, the enterprise has manufactured over 100,000 such machines.
