Kirovsky Zavod has been recognized as one of the top 10 companies successfully working with open innovation in the Industry and Logistics sector. The ranking was compiled by the investment company A.Partners as part of the Barometer project. Researchers analyzed corporations’ experience of supporting and developing ideas in the field of entrepreneurship.

“Kirovsky Zavod has been laying the groundwork for supporting startups and business projects for several years. In 2020, we launched Kirov Group Ventures, a corporate venture fund that invests in companies developing Industry 4.0, agrotech, energytech, HR and digital process automation (DPA) technologies in the B2B segment. The plant’s own employees can participate in the Internal Entrepreneurship program, which enables them to realize their business ideas,” said Georgy Semenenko, CEO of Kirovsky Zavod.

The authors of the study assessed the availability of tools for working with startups, such as corporate and external accelerators, an innovation platform, a venture studio, and a business incubator. Analysts took into account how companies structured their work with foreign and youth innovations, conducted hackathons, and invested in and bought projects. A point was awarded for each of these practices, and scores were then multiplied by a specific weighting factor.

Kirovsky Zavod outdid Russian Railways, Norilsk Nickel, Rusal, En + Group and Russian Post in the ranking.
