Germany’s Consul General in St Petersburg visits Kirov Plant

Germany’s Consul General in St Petersburg, Stefano Weinberger, and the Director of the North-West Branch of the Russian–German Chamber of Commerce, Vladimir Nikitenko, paid a visit to the Kirov Plant on July 22.

Georgy Semenenko, CEO of Kirovsky Zavod, took the guests on a tour of the main production sites.

The tour began at the Petersburg Tractor Plant, where the delegation visited the ultra-modern Workshop 225, which produces gearboxes, Workshop 277, the welding and mechanical workshop, and the main tractor assembly conveyor. They visited the rolling and open-hearth plants at Petrostal, and were also shown the Specialized Steels and Alloys Laboratory and the V.V. Vorovsky United Drilling Equipment Plant site in St Petersburg.

Those present discussed plans for German Week in St Petersburg, which will be taking place in April 2022. Kirovsky Zavod will bring together representatives of Russian and German businesses for the fifth time as part of Startup Day.

The delegation included Boris Wittkowski, CEO of the German Economy Information Center St Petersburg, and Dirk Tsirpka, Deputy Head of the Economics Department at the German Consulate General in St Petersburg.
